Carmen Sidbury, Ph.D., will begin her new role as associate provost for Research and Resources at Spelman College on August 22. Formerly an associate dean of undergraduate studies at the College, Sidbury will be responsible for developing multidisciplinary collaborations, and securing opportunities and resources to support research initiatives for faculty and students. Sidbury is the first African-American female to earn a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
