Harriet Tubman Day at Sights n Sounds Black Cultural Museum at Greenbriar Mall

The descendants of Harriet Tubman are honored to
announce their Family Reunion will be held in Georgia during the week of July 1st-
8th, 2012.  We have designated
July 6th as “Harriet Tubman Day” where we
will pay tribute to her past life, as well as bring awareness and attention to
the importance of why her Legacy must
be continued in the 21st Century.  A woman called “Moses” told us not to quit, she
said we must “Keep Goin!”

Harriet Tubman is the
Great Aunt of Geraldine Copes-Daniels.
Geraldine Copes-Daniels has traveled throughout the world (including
Ghana, Africa) where she was honored and acknowledged for her dedication to bringing
awareness of Harriet Tubman’s heroic life and the many contributions she made
to the African American Community.   Expected
attendance of more than 100 descendants traveling to Georgia from various parts
of the country

“Harriet Tubman Day” (July 6th) events will include the
following:

  • The Family will be
featured at “Sights and Sounds Black
    Cultural Expo & Museum
” to be held at Greenbriar Mall on Friday, July 6th,
    11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

  • Local performers and
community leaders will be in attendance.

  • Retail specials at
Greenbriar Mall in honor of Harriet Tubman Day

Further, a testament to Harriet Tubman’s
leadership of the Underground Railroad to “Keep Goin!” is embodied in your
noted support of building awareness and advocacy.  Through our endeavor of preserving the Legacy
of Harriet Tubman, we endeavor to share the importance of knowing from whence
we come as a people.

To this end, we are inviting the community to
share in this historical event in Georgia at Greenbriar Mall on Friday, July 6, 2012.  For additional information you may contact 678.761.0040 or 404.966.2137.
