Local Mom Launches Macaroni Kid for Parents in South Atlanta

Moms, dads, there's a new kid on the block: Macaroni Kid. Macaroni Kid College Park is a free weekly newsletter and website (http://collegepark.macaronikid.com) highlighting all of the great things for kids and their families to do in College Park, East Point, Hapeville, Fairburn, Forest Park, Jonesboro, Morrow, Riverdale and Union City!

The site’s publisher and editor, Roni Singleton Jeter says Macaroni Kid College Park is quickly becoming the "go-to source" for all things family- and kid-friendly on the South side of Atlanta.

“As a mom myself, I’ve always been interested in finding local activities to do with my own child that didn't require a 30 minute or longer drive," she says. "The north side of town always seems to be bursting with family-friendly events and attractions, but there are just as many things going on south of the city. It’s just sometimes harder to find them since they don’t get as much attention."

From birth to teens, Macaroni Kid College Park covers the spectrum of things to do with kids -- classes, shows, events as well as things to do at home, easy and healthy cooking projects, book reviews, arts and crafts, parenting articles and a reader favorite – giveaways! Giveaways have included tickets to some of the hottest shows and performances in town, as well as products for moms and dads.

One of the best things about Macaroni Kid is it's completely free and many of the event and activity listings are either free or low-cost. The website has a helpful tool called "My Macaroni" which allows parents to "bookmark" all of the event listings they're interested in each week, and helping them to better plan and keep track of those fun and enriching activities.

“I’m extremely excited to have brought Macaroni Kid to our community and look forward to the opportunity to support the many cultural, not-for-profit, school-related and just plain fun things there are to do on this side of town," Jeter says.

"This has been a much needed resource that focuses specifically on the parents who live in South Fulton and Clayton County. We have some exciting things planned for 2012, so be on the lookout for our summer camp guide, ideas for family-oriented day trips and travel, and so much more!”

Parents can sign up to receive the free weekly newsletter by visiting http://collegepark.macaronikid.com/subscribe. In addition to events in South Fulton and Clayton County, the newsletter and website brings reviews and insights about events and activities in the city of Atlanta.
