Cascade Patch Whiz Kid of The Week: Armani Tookes, 6, 'YouTube Sensation,' Football Star
This Atlanta Heights Charter School first-grader was recently awarded “Player of the Year” in Born to Compete's 6-and-under category.
The Born to Compete website sums up youth football running back Armani Tookes, 6, this way:
“Armani has become sort of a YouTube sensation. The way he is able to set up his defenders and break them down with a juke move that would reminds you of watching someone playing a video game. “
Indeed, the a running back for the Metro Atlanta Youth Football League’s Atlanta Vikings, is outstanding.
Armani was selected this year as "Player of the Year," in his age group, from among more than 50,000 six-year-old football players in Georgia as "Player of the Year 6U."
Kim Tassie, of Lambert, Edwards and Associates public relations, said the young southwest Atlanta resident deserves the Whiz Kid aware because of his "hard work and dedication."
Born to Compete, a Georgia youth sports organization, said in its tribute to Armani that he was "a vital part of the Atlanta Vikings engine as they rode him to the MAYFL Championship and all the way to the semifinals of the Coalition Bowl."
Armani is in the first grade at Atlanta Heights Charter School, 3670 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.
