Obama v Romney: Who Did Your Neighbors Vote For?
President Barack Obama was elected to serve the American people for four more years by putting together a diverse coalition of voters. The South continued to lean heavily Republican, but in communities like we have in Southwest Atlanta the clear choice for President was Barack Obama.
At the Westlake High School precinct I met first-time voters and seasoned voters who all came out the booth to say they, "voted for the President." In fact, Barack Obama won 98% of the votes at that precinct.
The greater Fulton County as a whole also voted to re-elect the President by a margin of nearly 115,000 votes.
Support for the President's 2012 election bid drops off almost completely once you look outside of the metro Atlanta area, which is why our state continues to go Republican.
