Concealed Weapons In Public Places: Take Our Online Poll
Are you for or against changing Georgia's current law?
House Bill 981, now before the Georgia General Assembly, would allow Georgians to carry concealed weapons in public schools, college campuses and other locations.
In Cascade, just this past week, a Therrell High School student was arrested after attempting to hide a handgun in a urinal after he and two other students had been arrested for gambling on school property.
So Cascade Patch wants to know: where do you stand on this issue? Take our online poll and let's get the discussion started.

I'm all for open carry for registered gun owners. I'm also for enforcing most gun laws that we have now. These kids, that you mentioned, had a gun that was illegal. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Why don't we ban swimming pools and knives? More children die from pool drownings than guns and more people die from knives.

I agree with John. However, your polling comments are leading and don't represent the true nature of the gun rule in an effort to put fear in the reader to vote against the bill. Legal possession of guns give law abiding citizens a chance to defend themselves against the unlawful citizen who already has one. The cops and elected officials are stating everyday they dont have enough resources to protect and serve. Level the playing field. It by statistics has lowered crime and incidents. Here's a great article. http://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/493636.html

I am all for allowing law abiding citizens to carry. Many burglaries and robberies are stopped by carrying citizens. Could hopefully make people think twice about committing a robbery. I also think an unlicensed person carrying a gun should receive a huge jail sentence. Get the guns off the streets and out of the criminials hands.
