A new Stone Mountain Zaxby's gave out 700 - 700! - applications to people hoping to land one of 60 fast-food jobs. Some might see that as a desperate sign of the times.
Meanwhile, high-tech companies are planning new offices in the area and more restaurants, retailers and corporate offices are planning hires from Sandy Springs to Stone Mountain.

All past recessions were followed by recoveries that were much better than this at a similar point in time. There were always solid growth numbers. This time no. The pieces are not in place for business to accept new risk, therefore our ' zombie recovery' will stagger on.

There are a lot more job openings being listed for IT professionals since the first of the year, but it's hard to say if they are actually hiring, which would loosen up some more jobs as they turn over. Lots of listings, not so many interviews yet. Companies have money but they are still mulling over the Obamacare impacts.
