Home Invasion Early Saturday Morning in Southwest Atlanta

Second home robbery in southwest Atlanta this week.

Atlanta Police are looking for a group of people who police say broke into a home, held a couple at gunpoint and robbed them.

The couple told investigators they were woken up at about 3 a.m. when they heard their dogs barking outside their home on Pegg Road in southwest Atlanta.

 The husband told police that is when he saw four or five people running up the driveway, wearing ski masks and holding assault rifles.

 The husband said the group kicked down the front door, made their way to the bedroom and forced the couple to the ground, screaming "where are the drugs at!"  The man said one of the robbers held him and his wife at gunpoint while the others ransacked the house.

 Officers said the group of bandits got away with a 42-inch flat screen television, about $800 and a laptop computer. Investigators also said the group stole the couple’s 2003 blue Chevrolet Avalanche.

This is the second home robbery this week in southwest Atlanta. Police also reported a robbery on Old Know Road this week.  In that incident, a group of men confronted a man as he exited his car to enter his home arond midnight Wednesday. 

The robbers forced the man into his home and reportedly pointed a gun at his wife and daughter. It was reported that the gunmen stole $400 and a laptop.
