Updated: Husband Suspected of Shooting his Wife on Emerald Court Commits Suicide

Police suspected that Dondreile Moultrie gunned down his wife in southwest Atlanta before fleeing from the scene.

Update: The Atlanta Police Department has issued a statement in regards to the suspect in the February 11th murder of a female on Emerald Court in Southwest Atlanta.  According to initial reports, the victims husband was the key suspect in the shooting and alerts were put out for the public's help in locating him.  On, February 21st, APD Sgt. Greg Lyon informed Cascade Patch that the Atlanta Police Department was, "notified earlier today that Dondriele Moultrie committed suicide around noontime yesterday (2/20) next to a Miami Beach Police Precinct." At this point it is not clear how long the suspect had been in the Miami area, or how the events of the suicide actually occurred.

SW Atlanta - A southwest Atlanta woman was gunned down February 11th around 5:30 p.m. inside of her car on Emerald Court near the Harland Terrace neighborhood.

Atlanta Police believe the suspect is her husband, Dondrelle Moultrie, and was seen fleeing in a 2008 Teal Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with Georgia tag BCQ8516.

According to Officer Chafee, "Homicide Investigators are attempting to locate the victim’s estranged husband in connection with this homicide. The preliminary investigation indicates that the female was shot while inside a vehicle."

As of Monday night, there have been no updates on the suspects motives.  Police say that when they arrived to the scene, it appeared that the 35 year old woman was  "shot multiple times and was deceased." It was witnesses in the neighborhood that pointed police towards the husband for questioning.
