Make Memories With The Kids This Valentines Day

Whether going out or staying in, there are many ways to create a family tradition.

Valentine's Day for most people means celebrating with your significant other. But once you have children, it takes on a whole new life as Valentine's is celebrated with everyone that you love.

If you have little ones at home, you can take advantage of this time of hearts and chocolates and celebrate with your kids. There are many fun activities that you can do with your kids to create memories that last a lifetime.

Here are a few ideas:

1. Let Them Eat PanCAKEs:  Kids love to cook, and nothing says I love you like little bodies draped in aprons and faces covered in flour!  Try this new twist on heart-shaped pancakes from Aunt Jemima.  Using her boxed pancake mix, red food coloring and a heart shaped cookie cutter, you can create an amazing pancake that looks like something off of a fancy cooking show.  Add strawberries, bananas and a touch of warm syrup for a one of a kind Valentines morning breakfast.

2. Snuggle, Cuddle and Love: Grab a warm blanket and share the love as you and the crew enjoy these Valentine family themed flicks.  Have a sweet tooth? Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory should satisfy that!  Tweens and teens will enjoy episodes of Cake Boss available on Netflix or Comcast on Demand.  Shrek Forever After will be a hit with all age groups and is available at your local Red Box.

Home with a newborn and experiencing a little cabin fever? Have the best of both worlds at the Starlight 6 Drive In Movie Theater on Moreland.  You and your main squeeze can catch a current movie and your little one won't be exposed to those yucky movie theater germs as he snoozes in the backseat.

3. Let's Get Physical: Celebrate Valentines Day with one free game of bowling from Brunswick for the kids and their friends!  Click the link and print out the cute bowling coupons.  They're open 9am till midnight.

Located in a heated tent, the entire family can make memories on the ice this Valentines Day.  Families with children will want to enjoy the 4pm session.  Tickets are available ONLINE  to guarantee a reservation.

Whether you stay in or go out, keep it simple or spruce it up, celebrating Valentines Day can be fun family affair!  Of course once the kids are in bed, you can still break out a nice bottle from Cascade Wine Styles and those chocolate covered strawberries from Publix for some much needed adult time....after spending time as a family, alone time will be that much sweeter!
