Metropolitan Pkwy Community Mourns the Death of Beloved Store Owner, Demba Balde
Police say Demba Balde was robbed and killed outside of his Clayton County home on Tuesday evening, September 25th.
The neighbors who live within the communities along Metropolitan Parkway are mourning the death of a respected and well-liked convenience store owner, Demba Balde, who was shot and killed on Tuesday of this week.
According to CBS Atlanta, Balde was robbed and shot outside of his Clayton County home as he unloaded groceries from his trunk. Balde was the owner of the Metropolitan Food Mart on Metropolitan Parkway in Southwest Atlanta.
Over the last two days community members who regularly visited his store have shared stories of Balde's generosity and how he helped shoppers who may not have had enough money to purchase necessities in his store. They have also created a impromptu memorial outside of his store.
Clayton County is still investigating the crime and looking for potential suspects. He was shot outside his Riverdale home located in the 600-block of Roxbury Drive. If you have information, please call the Police Department.
