Personal bible of Dr. Martin Luther King.
President Obama sworn-in for 2nd term using Dr. King's personal bible along with Pres. Lincoln's bible.

Dr. Martin Luther King may only be here in spirit, but his personal bible was on the steps of the U.S. Capitol when President Barack Obama stood and was sworn in for his 2nd-term as President of the United States.

What do you think Dr. King would say?  He would be 84 years-old this week if his life was not tragically taken.  Would Dr. King think we made it to the Promised Land or do you think he would still say that citizens in America have a ways to go?

Let us know in the comments section.

I think he would say we have come a long way but we have so much more to do as a people and as a nation with infinite possibilities. He would be against our war- mongering around the world and would extoll us to address the violence and poverty in our society

I doubt. The election of Barack Obama notwithstanding, there's too many disparities that remain from schools and eduction inequality, the growing divide between rich and poor, America's addiction to warmongering, for starters.

Peralte Paul, unless we directly confront the cause and effect of institutional racism, our country will never come close to achieving our full potential.
