The Week Ahead in Cascade

You can eavesdrop on a conversation between Malcolm X and President Obama, hear stories at the Wren's Nest, look at paintings at the Southwest Branch Library, take in a photo exhibit and do some green shopping.

1. Malcolm and Barack. This play imagines a conversation between President Obama and the apparition of Malcolm X. 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Southwest Arts Center at 915 New Hope Road SW, Atlanta. $15.

2. Wren's Nest storytelling. Stories for kids. 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wren's Nest House Museum at 1050 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. SW, Atlanta. $5.

3. "The Measure Of A Child." Marcus E. Bishop presents his painting MFA thesis exhibition that documents the daily life of children in the Public School System. All week at the Southwest Branch Library at 3665 Cascade Rd SW, Atlanta. Free.

4. Teenie Harris, Photographer. This exhibit of pictures by photojournalist Charles “Teenie” Harris captures African-American life from Jim Crow through the civil rights eras in Pittsburgh. All week at the Atlanta University Center at 111 James P Brawley Drive SW, Atlanta. Free.

5. Truly Living Well Market. Shop for fresh, local and organic produce at this weekly market. 2 p.m. Friday at 3353 Washington Road, Atlanta. Free.
