Zone 4 Supervisor reports that crime in the area is down, and that we have had the "best summer ever."

Thefts, break-ins, and other crime is down in the area as Zone 4 officers continue to make a presence felt in the West Mall area at nights.

The West End Mall, historically sees the majority of crime reported in the area, but Zone 4 officers are now patrolling the area more and have more of a visual presence on the property. 

Funds were provided to support the extra patrols, and those funds will soon be gone.  However, the department says it will find a way to continue to suppress crime in that area, and will not let the criminals flood back into the area once the extra patrols have ceased.
