Ground was broken Monday on the new Vine City Walmart to be located in Atlanta's Historic Westside Village.

The new, 74,000-square-foot store is expected to bring 250 jobs to the community.

Dear Cascade Patch,

The area where this Wal-Mart will be located is not the "Historic West End", but rather referred to a Westside Village as you mention later in the article. The actual Historic West End is a particular geographic footprint: www.atlantawestend.com/myjoomla/content/view/25/68/

The celebratory groundbreaking in Westside Village is the 7th "groundbreaking" for the site! The historic footprints of the area are gone! Kudos to those who are trying to revitalize the area. Good Luck, you'll need it!!!
