Dr. Durley (Jerry)
I just learned of your date of retirement, too late to send a message then but want you to know how very proud I am of all you have accomplished in the Lord as pastor of Providence MBC. You may not remember when we first met when you headed the Curriculum Development division of the Institiute for Services to education where we worked that I told you how much you resembled my pastor the Rev. Lawrence A. Davies, and that your demeanor, delivery and passion for just about everything, and your love for humanity, suggested to way back then that your true calling was to the ministry of God. Well HE proved me correct and you followed that calling-- and to g reat effect. BTW, Rev. Davies retired March 5 from Shiloh Baptist Church Old Site after 50 years. So there!
Well, I am still in Jamaica as United States Ambassador but actually this moment in Louisville, Ky where I hve just had foot surgery and am in a cast just under my knee. Got through very well and am following instructioins that will keep me off my feet for several weeks (wow-that's not easy to do but I'm doing it).
I am wisihing for you, Murial your Nia, Hassan and your grand children every good wish and all God's blessings as you enter a new and ever exciting period for you to do His good will and works . May God bless and keep you in His care. Congratulations and thanks for all you have done for all of us. We have grown knowing you. Pamela Bridgewater
