Hemoglobin vs Chlorophyll

Hemoglobin and Chlorophyll have similar structures. The main difference is that hemoglobin is built around iron (Fe), where as chlorophyll is built around magnesium, (Mg).  The primary function for hemoglobin is to transport oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body.  Hemoglobin is composed of four elements- carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. All four are organized around iron. Chlorophyll is composed of the same elements, which are organized around magnesium.

In sickle cell anemia, the abnormal hemoglobin (Hemoglobin-S) sticks together when it gives up its oxygen to the tissues.  These clumps cause red blood cells to become stiff and shaped like a sickle.

Chlorophyll helps do the job of hemoglobin when ingested.  Promote the health of circulation, cleanse the body, increase the number of red blood cells and therefore increase oxygen throughout the body, in other words, Chlorophyll helps build hemoglobin.  This is exactly what our sickle cell babies and others need, to build hemoglobin!

In 2006, The Hospital For Sick Children located in Toronto Canada started a clinical trial regarding Magnesium and sickle cell kids

You are very welcome:-)

you are right... collard greens, spinach, kale, asparagus, green beans, broccoli, all the leafy GREEN veggies contains Chlorophyll. My son is 3 and he is a very picky eater, so he doesn't eat what he needs to get the right amount of nutrients in his body that's why I give him the Chlorophyll to make sure he is getting it. Then the other thing to worry about is when you are cooking your veggies are you cooking all the chlorophyll out, if you cook them too long they start to lose all the important nutrients. of course eating raw celery, broccoli you know you are getting it:-)

There is also liquid Chlorophyll. Years ago when I was pregnant, my nurse midwife recommended this. I still take it every morning in my glass of water each day- eight years later. There are also tablets available, but Nicole is right. They best way to get it is to eat it :-)!

Exactly!!!! I give my son liquid Chlorophyll everyday without fail - he's been taking for a year and a half now - its great! And he hasn't had a sickle cell crisis in a year and a half as well!!! Before then he stayed in the hospital. Of course I five him other herbs as well but I really love the liquid chlorophyll. I'm going to start taking it myself:-)
