A Black History Event brought to you by the organizers of AfroXplosion 2013

An entertaining panel discussion and conversation about the retention of African Arts and its relevance in the contemporary lives of the diaspora and African people. Dynamic Professors and Arts Practitioners converge
at the Southwest Performing Arts Center to answer the question, “Why should I support African Arts: dance, music, theatre, film, art, or architecture?” and to talk about four major African centered events happening in Atlanta - 2013.
Projects to be discussed are DanceAfrica Atlanta, the West African theatrical production Wedlock of the Gods, AfroDream Fest, and South African one woman
show, MOTHER TO MOTHER. Seating is limited!

The Southwest Arts Center is a neighborhood facility dedicated to bringing art classes, cultural programs and events to the southwest Atlanta community. The center offers classes in visual arts, film making, dance, music and other disciplines.

The center is operated by the Fulton County Arts Council, which manages five similar centers across the metro area.
