More About Howell Park
There is plenty to do in this one-block park, at Ralph David Abernathy and Peeples Street in the Historic West End.
The urban green space is home to a basketball court, playground, gazebo and benches for reading or an outdoor lunch break. A tile collage by artist Jimoh Buraimoh entitled "A Meeting of Elders," makes the park a public intown gallery space, too.
The park is supported by William Hollins and Park Pride and it is maintained by the city's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. The park gazebo holds about 15 people. For reservations, please call 404-546-6757.
As with all city parks, Howell park is governed by the city's Office of Parks official Park Use Rules and Guidelines.
