In recognition of the birth of Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington (April 29, 1899), and in collaboration with the James Hardy Patterson Foundation, the Auburn Avenue Research Library will host Preservation of the Culture of African Classical Jazz Music. This community forum will feature a panel discussion on the preservation of classical jazz music and culture. Panelists for the discussion include James H. Patterson, Dwight Andrews, Sandra Jean Foster, Calvert Johnson and moderator, Kevin J. Waddy.
