Sandtown Middle School is located in the Sandtown community on the outskirts of Atlanta in southwest Fulton County. The school opened in September of 2004, serving grades 6 through 8.

Its motto is "Failure is not an option, and mediocrity is not the standard." In accordance with this maxim, Sandtown utilizes different teaching models to meet the needs of all students, boost confidence and improve performance.  

Sandtown is equipped with the latest technological advances, including four computer labs and a mobile laptop station. 

Several clubs and sports are available to enhance students' educational experiences. Popular sports include basketball, tennis, track and soccer.
