Buckhead Cascade Links Break Ground on an Urban Garden at Woolfolk Boys & Girls Club

The W.W. Woolfolk Club opened in honor of Judge Woolfolk of Fulton County. This club serves an estimated 650 young members year round.

Cascade Patch just wanted to make you aware of Buckhead Cascade Link's work to start an urban garden at the Woolfolk Boys & Girls Club in the Cascade community.

Ceasar Mitchell, Atlanta City Council President, continues to promote SNAP and access for fresh foods in Atlanta. The councilman even took the SNAP Challenge with his wife to see if he could live on the same wage.

The Links are long time partners with the Woolfolk Boys and Girls club and are now supporting the healthy lifestyle coach with a cooking and gardening program to fight childhood obesity. The club is excited to break ground on a new urban garden for the children to learn and interact with.

According to organizers, "foods grown will be used for cooking."

Dr. Candy Tate says, "all this is an effort to improve reading and math scores for our youth."

Please join Ceasar Mitchell and the Buckhead Cascade Links organization at 5 pm Thursday, December 5th, at Woolfolk Boys & Girls Club for the groundbreaking. (1642 Richland Rd SW, Atlanta, GA 30311)
