Two Cars Smash Through the Glass Doors at West End Mall, Steal ATM

2 cars smash through the glass doors, one car left inside the Mall

West End Mall customers will be unceremoniously greeted by 2 completely demolished entrances as they walk up to West End Mall this morning.  Police say that 2 cars were involved in a smash-and-grab ATM theft early Monday morning around 6 a.m.

According to Sgt. Greg Lyon, "a minivan and red Ford were used to steal an ATM from the mall,  the Ford was left inside the mall and the van exited through the Northside exit," smashing both sets of glass doors in the process.

APD officers say they were able to recover both the van and the ATM machine nearby at the corner of Greewich and Lucile.

Police assume cash was taken from the ATM, but were unable to get inside of it to see how much if any was stolen.

Business owners and community members hope that surveillance cameras may have captured the suspects.  Stay with Cascade Patch as more becomes available.
