A GIANT LEAP FORWARD FOR DR. DELL BYRD!

APS Board Candidate Dr. Dell Byrd jumps for joy as her campaign advances to an upcoming runoff.  A celebrated and award-winning educator, Byrd eagerly anticipates the potential opportunity to become a part of the governing mechanism which will work to restore the pride and achievement that APS has known in former years.

Surrounded by citizens from around the city, Byrd watched election returns with the prayer that she will finally be in position to affect the kind of change so needed in the public schools of our great city.  Entering the race much later than three opponents, Byrd garnered enough votes to secure a place in the runoff election. 

Most appreciative of support she has received thus far, she wishes to repay the community with gratitude for their vote of confidence in this first round and secondly with a pledge of full commitment to do her best to enhance the quality of the education of ALL students in APS after the runoff.  According to Bryd, “ The most fulfilling experience for a real educator takes place when children exhibit true evidence of learning and pride in achievement.  This can be accomplished only in a nurturing and productive environment.  I want to experience that look and attitude of achievement on the faces and in the attitude of our children all across the city.   I want Atlanta’s parents to experience the same level of pride!  We CAN do this!“

Byrd will be in runoff with Eshe Collins.
