Atlanta City Council Challenger Torry Lewis Outraises Twenty-Year-Incumbent Cleta Winslow

ATLANTA— Atlanta City Council District Four Challenger Torry Lewis, has outraised both of his opponents according to filing reports from the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Office.  Lewis has raised a total of $5,830 with an additional $2,850 of in-kind contributions; Twenty-Year-Incumbent Cleta Winslow filed both reports on the same day showing a grand total of $1,259; and Two-Time Challenger DeBorah Sister Williams has not raised any money as of yet.

“This shows that the community and people invested in our community have grown tired of unethical, unproductive, and complacent leadership”, said Lewis.  Winslow who has been hit by multiple ethics violations from both the city and state levels, charged with a DUI in May, and has been found in violation of Atlanta’s Ethics Code in 2010 for using city money to fund a portion of her last campaign has raised far less than her colleagues who have an average of $52,448.78 cash on hand.  Lewis commented further, “We are pleased with where we stand, but we have a lot of work to do.  I can’t let this news change how hard we work.  We will continue to work hard to get our message out to voters and stakeholders in the community.”  The Lewis campaign plans to file open record requests throughout the campaign to safeguard tax dollars from abuse.  Full reports can be viewed at http://www.torrylewis.com/pres/document/
