Fulton County Announces Fee and Schedule Changes at Senior Multipurpose Facilities

Changes to Schedule Will Ensure Consistency Among Centers and Meal Fees Remain Lower Than Actual Cost to the County

All Fulton County Senior Multipurpose Facilities will undergo schedule and fee changes within the upcoming months which all have been designed to ensure consistency and quality of services for Fulton County seniors. The County remains dedicated to providing quality services to seniors and believes these changes will accomplish that goal.

Standard Operating Hours will be 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM at all four multipurpose facilities for a total of 200 service hours provided by the County per week. Currently, centers are operating under different schedules.  The Multipurpose facilities will be open 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday for participating seniors.  Expanded evening hours (5:00 PM to 8:00 PM) and weekend hours (Saturdays 8:00 AM to NOON) will be discontinued effective April 1, 2014.

The cost for meals at all facilities will also change beginning June 1, 2014. While the costs seniors will pay for meals will have increased by a minimal fee, this increase still remains less than the actual cost of senior meals to the County, which is approximately $10.00 per meal.   The fees for meals have been changed to the following:

- Breakfast will be $2.50 (plus tax) from $2.00 (plus tax)
- Lunch will be $4.00 (plus tax) from $3.00 (plus tax)

In addition, an annual Membership Fee for Fulton County residents who attend the multipurpose facilities will be implemented on June 1, 2014.  The new annual membership fee is $25.00, which amounts to approximately 10 cents per day. A prorated amount of $12.50 will be due on June 1, 2014 which once paid will serve as the membership fee for 2014. Lastly, the annual Out of County Membership Fee will be increased to $150.00 from $100.00 effective June 1, 2014.
