Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility to Host Senior University Day 2014

Annual education and information event presented during Fulton County’s Observance ofOlder Americans Month

The Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility will host its annual Senior University Day on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  The Darnell Multipurpose Facility is collaborating with Arts & Culture to offer a screening of “Double Victory: The Tuskegee Airmen at War” as presented by Historian to the film, Zellie Rainey Orr.  Ms. Orr will entertain questions and hold a book signing. 

Senior University Day 2014 is part of the Pre- Grand Opening festivities of the Fulton County Aviation Community Cultural Center.  Art & Culture’s theme for the new Center is “Taking Flight in the Community”.  The program also includes a partnership with the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and the Central Library to provide topical information and a display of research material(s) that focus on African Americans and Aviation.
