South Fulton Residents Meet with Commissioner Edwards to Discuss the Revitalization of Old National Highway

South Fulton County residents continue to pack community meetings to discuss issues vital to the growth and development of their community.  Residents met with District 7 Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards for the third time in less than three months on Thursday, March 6, 2014.  The subject of the third meeting, which was held at New Life Presbyterian Church, involved the revitalization of Old National Highway.

More than 100 citizens gathered to talk about issues such as continuing to help the Fulton County police department to push drug dealers and prostitutes out of their communities, attracting more upscale restaurants and retailers, bringing manufacturers to the area and improving roads and transportation. Residents presented their ideas and agreed to meet again in 90 days to discuss concrete strategies for attracting more economic development and crime prevention.  In the interim, County planners will prepare a potential strategy based on the community’s input.

Two prior meetings included the regular quarterly listening session and another meeting at Body of Christ Church International to discuss the potential costs of annexation of South Fulton into another city or incorporation as a separate city.  For more information, contact Commissioner Edwards’ office at 404-612-8230 or 404-612-3079.
