Celebrate MLK Day early with Family and Neighbors in East Point

The MLK Holiday Commission of East Point will host its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration on January 12-13, 2013, with the theme: "Uniting Communities Through Service, As We Celebrate the Dream".

Commission events in East Point will include a youth empowerment workshop with sessions on drugs, gangs, bullying, the judicial system, organized labor and creative writing Saturday, January 12th.

On Sunday, January 13th, an Ecumenical program of celebration will be held featuring keynote speaker Dr. Love Henry Whelchel, professor of church history at Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Ga. The MLK Ecumenical choir will also be performing.
