It’s hard to believe, but summer is almost over.

Here at Cascade Patch, we think it’s a good time to pause and reflect on the fun you’ve had, whether you got to hit the road or enjoyed a staycation.

So we’re asking you, dear reader, to take part in our very first How I Spent My Summer photo contest.

The winner will get a Patch tote bag, a nifty water bottle, a t-shirt and perhaps some other Patchy items that we have lying around. Oh, and of course, bragging rights as the person judged to be the best photographer in Cascade Patch!

For the legally-minded, we’ve attached the rules to this article in a handy PDF format.

But it boils down to this – keep your submissions family friendly, submit no more than 1 photo per day, and include your name and a little information about where the photo was taken and what you were doing when you shot it. Also, we ask that you stick to photos from summer 2011.

To enter this contest, you simply have to upload a photo to this story. (Below this article, you’ll find a camera icon, and you can click on that to get started. If you need more guidance, follow this link.)

And stay tuned, because you, dear reader, will get a chance to vote on the finalists as well.

Photos can be submitted until noon Aug. 6. Public judging will start Aug. 8.

So let’s get started because a little friendly competition is always fun!
