The 5th Annual Urban Forestry Festival

SPECIFICS: The West Atlanta Watershed Alliance and the National Wildlife Federation are hosting this festival to celebrate Southwest Atlanta's urban forests and its inhabitants. The entire family can enjoy food, giveaways, tours, educational exhibits, and guided tours of the 26 acre forest around the activity center. RSVP for a special drawing by sending an email to info.wawaonline@gmail.com. You must be present to win the prize.

ZAP! POW! BAM! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938-1950

WHEN: Sunday, April 3; 1pm - 5pm

WHERE: The Breman Jewish Heritage & Holocaust Museum, 1440 Spring Street, Atlanta, GA 30309

SPECIFICS: Rare Comic book exhibition featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and Captain America. A drawing studio, free comic book stand, and interactive stations that allow children to dress up as super heroes also included in this exhibition.

COST: Adults- $12, Seniors (62 and over)- $8, Students - $6, Children ages 3 to 6 - $4, Children under age 3- Free

FREE SATURDAYS FOR CITY OF ATLANTA AND FULTON COUNTY RESIDENTS

On the first Saturday of each month, some museums and private institutions in Atlanta provide free admission to Atlanta and Fulton County residents. This Saturday, both the High Museum and the Center for Puppetry Arts Museum are free. Residents need a driver's license, utility bill, or student ID as proof of residency.

WHEN: Saturday, April 2; 10am - 5pm

WHERE: The High Museum, 1280 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30309

SPECIFICS: Current exhibitions highlight prints, paintings, and drawings by important artists working in Paris, and photography of modern American life.

COST: Free for Atlanta and Fulton County residents

WHEN: Saturday, April 2; 9am - 5pm

WHERE: The Center For Puppetry Arts Museum, 1404 Spring Street, Atlanta, GA 30309

SPECIFICS: The museum features over 1,000 puppets documenting the puppetry arts. Children will be delighted to see the Jim Henson collection and puppets from around the world.  Over  1,000 posters and videos are also included in the display. Museum entrance does not include entrance to the puppet shows or workshops.  Museum patrons do, hoever, receive a 25% discount on shows.
