Fun family-friendly weekend events for Cascade Patchers.

This is definitely the weekend for your family to enjoy Atlanta's wonderful spring festivals and outdoor activities. Some events featured below take place in public parks, which provides the perfect opportunity for a picnic after touring the festivals. Of course, Cascade Patch will always include educational weekend events as well to keep our children sharp. Enjoy!

THE GEORGIA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL

WHEN: April 16 - June 5; Saturdays and Sundays only, 10:30am – 6:00pm

SPECIFICS: Enjoy a 16th Centry European fair including costumed characters, music, comedy stages, crafting, shopping, games, and food.

COST: Children 5 and under are free. At at entrance, adult tickets are $19.95; senior tickets (60 and over) are $17.95 and children (6-12) $8.95. Discounted tickets can be purchased online.

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGE & SMALL BUSINESS EXPO

WHEN: Saturday, April 16 at 1pm

WHERE: Friendship Baptist Church, 437 Mitchell Street, Atlanta, GA 30313

SPECIFICS: Hear leading Atlanta entrepreneurs speak about creating successful businesses. Guest speakers include Hank Stewart of The Stewart Foundation, Nadiya Merchant, CEO of an information technology consulting company, and Anthony Payne, CEO of Executive Business Solutions. Youth can also compete for best written business plan, marketing presentation, or oral presentation.

BOUNCE.PLAY.RUN HEALTH FAIR EVENT

WHEN: Saturday, April 16 at 11am

WHERE: Grant Park Recreation Center, 537 Park Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30315

SPECIFICS: Sports and fitness activities will be available for children. There will also be special guest appearances and giveaways. While the children play, adults can enjoy massages and health screenings, and learn healthy cooking tips.

ATLANTA DOGWOOD FESTIVAL

WHEN: Friday, April 15, 10am-9pm; Saturday, April 16, 10am-9pm; Sunday, April 17, 10am-5pm

WHERE: Piedmont Park

SPECIFICS: Artists from around the country display their art work at this widely popular event. The festival also includes musical performances and a Kids Village – complete with interactive games and inflatable jumping structures.
