Sign This Petition to Help Keep the Commissary at Fort McPherson Open

In a statement from Councilperson Cleta Winslow, Cascade Patch was reminded that, "the veterans and military families NEED our local Ft. McPherson Commissary facility and if this one closes, the next closest commissary is over 2 hours away."

Community members now are urged to sign the following online petition to make their voices heard and to help fight the closure of the commissary which was at one time promised to remain open.

"The Fort McPherson Commissary is set to close on September 28th, 2013. This commissary is the only such facility in the Metro Atlanta Area serving over 60,000 eligible veterans and military families.  Many of these users depend on the commissary's reduced prices to feed themselves and their families on tight budgets. If the Fort McPherson Commissary is closed the nearest commissaries to Atlanta would be in Columbus, Warner Robins and Augusta which are each two hours away."
