Wednesday WineStyles Event Promotes Cascade Businesses, Investing

Tommy Dortch, Jr., encourages stepped up investing in southwest Atlanta establishments.

Thomas Dortch, Jr., Chairman Emeritus of 100 Black Men of Atlanta, encouraged a gathering of some 50 professionals Wednesday evening to investment more in southwest Atlanta area establishments.

"Southwest Atlanta is a phenomenal place to live," Dortch, a corporate affairs consultant, said Wednesday at the Cascade WineStyles, 3752 Cascade Rd. "Let's invest in our community so we can make sure we have these things on the southside."

The wine tasting event—hosted by Dortch and Jennifer Freeman of Freeman Young Consulting—not only promoted the wide range of wines available in the establishment but also provided a platform for entertainment from established musicians such as Reggie Hines and Mike Phillips and spoken word performer Hank Stewart.

In addition to the networking and music, organizers sought to raise awareness of Jean Young Middle School's 'Young Men of Distinction' by donating 10 percent of all bottle sales to the student organization.
