On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama their Person of the Year, again!
The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including the president, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. But, the president took the title again four years after he first won the award as president-elect in 2008.
But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is Cascade’s or SW Atlanta's Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?
Was it Morris Brown College, that seemed to be able to fight off foreclosure?
- or Tyler Perrry after another succesful year.
-Maybe Mayor Reed for his leadership and support of Pres. Obama
-Is it Walmart and the new Walmart stores coming to the area?
- or maybe Family Dollar and the community resistance they met this year.
- Could it be Kandi from Real Housewives, and the buying of a local mansion.
-Or possibly someone totally different!

from the Atlanta Planning Advisory Board in November of 2012, for hisefforts to fundraise a reward-fund and for distribution of some 2000 flyers about my son's case (Jordan Ashley, was the young man killed in a robbery on Danfort Road on August 23, 2012). There has been no resolution to this case but Mr. Jeanne has been instrumental in assisting the police and working in the police campus that took place shortly after the incident. He has been supportative, available and helpful in my dealing with him. Please nominate Mr Jeanne for Cascade person of the year.
