Cascade Resident Screens Her Film, Double Agent, on Saturday at the Urban Mediamakers Film Fest

Director Althea Brown, is a Cascade area resident and has a film competing in the 11th annual Urban Mediamakers Film Festival.

Double Agent, a short film from director Althea Brown, has been selected to screen during the 11th Urban Mediamakers Film Festival on Saturday, October 13th at 3:30 pm. The Urban Mediamakers Association brings their 11th Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF) to Norcross, Georgia, October 12-14, 2012.

Independent films from around the world will compete for over $20,000 in prizes and awards.

The film, Double Agent, follows a young woman, Symean, who is a secret agent with a secret of her own: she has a “manufactured twin” that assists on her assignments. Their latest assignment is to find who is behind the dastardly Nim Chip. Symean's discovery presents her with the ultimate challenge for which she was trained to meet. Double Agent is a Magical Realism journey that uses visual effects to engage the audience and forward the storyline.

According to Ms. Brown, "Double Agent represents the first time a “camera array” shot was filmed in the State of Georgia. The “camera array” or “time slice” shot in Double Agent is the same kind of shot as in the movie The Matrix."

UMFF provides edutainment opportunities for independent actors, filmmakers, multimedia producers and writers,” stated Cheryle Reynolds, executive director/producer of UMFF.

Presented at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast in Norcross, Georgia, this four-day festival is open to the general public. UMFF includes an opening event, premieres, free film screenings, panel discussions, workshops, youth screening series, networking and an awards ceremony.
