Real Men Cook Featuring Michael Baisden will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, Thomas Murphy Ballroom,  Father's Day, June 17 from 3-6 p.m. For details visit www.realmencook.com.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under at the door.

  For the past 14 years, Real Men Cook® For Charity Atlanta (RMC Atlanta) continues to raise the bar, producing a stellar Father's Day event that pays homage to Black men. This year is no different. In addition to over 100 men sharing exquisite cuisine with thousands of guests, RMC will feature the uplifting sounds of singer, minister, and radio personality, Darlene McCoy; and, national radio personality and best selling author, Michael Baisden will share hosting duties with writer, director and producer of The Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown, Rick Joyner

In addition to his hosting duties, Baiden will be signing copies of his newly released political/action thriller, "Maintenance Man II” Other highlights include a performances by Wanda Trent Phillips and America’s Got Talent singer, Xavier Lewis, and the give-away of a Jamaican vacation courtesy of The Jewel Dunn's River Beach Resort & Spa.

 “Once again, the Real Men Cook team has planned an exceptional event.  We have unique entertainment like caricature and face painters, zumba dancing, and an instant photo booth,” says Diane Larche´, RMC Atlanta event manager. “It is an activity-packed, yet affordable event. Once the guests enter they are able to mingle with local and national celebrities, sample over 100 dishes, watch the performances, and enjoy all of the fun and games for free. And, we are proud to use this event to raise money for outstanding local charities.”

RMC 2012 charity partners are Real Men Charities and Hearts of Steel (www.heartsofsteel.org), a nonprofit formed to assist Ian Weeks, 32, of Cartel Catering raise over $400,000 for a desperately needed heart transplant. Weeks must accumulate the finances in order to be placed on the transplant list.  Founded in 1989 by Karega Kofi Moyo and Yvette Moyo Gillard, Real Men Charities, is the national not-for-profit organization that presents the Real Men Cook events to honor fathers and father figures to empower families.  The organization’s focus includes year round prostate cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular health awareness.

“Our charity partners this year are close to our heart,” says  Kevin Ashford, founder of Catered Cakes and RMC Atlanta Spokesman. “Ian and his company, Cartel Catering, won at Real Men Cook in 2010 but he could not participate in 2011 because of his heart condition.”

Larche´ adds, “Ian has so much to live for with a loving wife and four kids and our donation, no matter how big or small, will put him that much closer to making this a reality.”
