The B-AWARE Foundation and the Joe Beasley Foundation Presents the 6th Annual "A-Town Day – Health Care Festival" March 17, 2012 Health Care Concert & Day of Awareness at Lakewood

Atlanta, GA (February 28, 2012) – The largest outdoor community health outreach awareness festival and concert in the city of Atlanta continues to celebrate their 6th anniversary with an official health care festival, concert and day of awareness at Lakewood (Aaron’s Amphitheater) located at 1936 Pryor Road, SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30315.“We are excited to make A-Town Day a success again this year.  Our ultimate goal is to inform our community about how to recognize the importance of critical issues and to teach them how to deal with those issues and properly take care of themselves – I have lost several family members to a number of issues from diabetes and cancer to alcoholism and strokes, when I lost my father in 2005 to diabetes complications it changed my life – I realized that I want to make people AWARE; this has been my mission since ”said The B-AWARE Foundation’s Executive Director, Mr. Brian Glasper.

 

Beginning Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 12 pm to 8 pm, the family can enjoy fun-filled activities, food and music while receiving free health screenings and information. With attendance ranging from 3,000 to 8,000 over the last 5 years, the goal is to raise funds with the proceeds going towards The Diabetes Association of Atlanta & the B-AWARE Foundation. Children under 10 are free and general admission is only $10. Organizations taking part include: The Diabetes Association of Atlanta, The Atlanta Fire Department, The Red Cross, The Joe Beasley Foundation, The Peoples Agenda, Concerned Black Clergy, Rainbow Push Coalition, V-103, Aflac, BJ's Wholesale Club, McDonald's, WellCare of Georgia, Inc., Bruster's Real Ice Cream, Power Home Remodeling Group, Georgia Mentor, Rolling Out, GABEO, The Georgia Association for the Clinically Hearing Impaired, Leaf Filter, Peach State Health Plan, The National Association of Working Women, ADT, + many more! With over 50 artists performing – we will be delivering over 100 statistics through out the event. Spreading AWARENESS!
