ZION HILL CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH "HERITAGE' - AN ORIGINAL STAGE PLAY

Zion Hill Baptist Church will celebrate the historical legacy of African Americans with the presentation of Heritage: The Long Journey From the Motherland: Historical Leaders on our Path of Righteousness,  an original stage play, on Saturday, February 24, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

The play will commemorate the men and women whose actions and influence continue to provide spiritual guideposts for African American people of faith during their
struggles for civil rights, both past and present.  Rev. Adams-Taylor, Associate Minister and play director said, “This wonderful presentation promises to be exciting,
entertaining and enlightening as we honor historical and spiritual leaders such as Dr. Howard Thurman, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Dr. Charles A. Tindley, Ambassador Andrew Young, Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook and Zion Hill’s own pastor, Rev. Dr. Aaron L. Parker, Sr. as well as many others  for their awesome teachings and preaching, which are testimonials to God’s goodness and the strength and persistent faith of these persons as foundational encouragement for our current generation.”  The performance is intended to bring clarity to the cause for freedom and why Blacks in America did not faint or lose heart along the journey to cultural, societal, and political freedom.

Heritage is a heartfelt and soul-stirring original stage play that offers an evening of excellent family entertainment and education for all ages; filled with moments that will
invit the audience to laugh, sing, cry, and shout as the marvelous story unfolds.
