Non-chemically straighten hair is mechanically processed with use of blow dryer or thermal ceramic iron.  Twisted, straw-set or braided hair styles are other unique ways to style natural hair, in which it will remain until next shampoo. Lastly, there is locked natural hair which is permanently styled, such as, dreadlocks which requires a haircut to change hairstyle.

So, there are various ways to style natural hair, but it must be properly maintained to be healthy.

As a natural stylist, I recommend for clients to use professional shampoo, conditioners and scalp treatments. I emphasize the importance of professional products because of their ingredients. It is important to shampoo hair frequently or at least once a week with professional hair shampoo and follow-up with a professional hair conditioner.

Professional hair products have key ingredients to properly cleanse and exfoliating scalp and hair by removing excessive product build-up and toxins.  A moisturizing shampoo and conditioner will provide hydration and moisture to the hair and scalp while maintaining a leveled pH balance to prevent breakage.

Once the hair and scalp have been properly treated with a professional shampoo and conditioner, it will also promote hair growth.  In addition, I highly recommend trimming hair every 6 weeks to remove split-ends.

Whether you have natural hair or you would like for your hair to be natural, it is important to consult with a professional hairstylist.

A professional will be able to recommend hair products to help you maintain healthy hair during your journey through the fabulous world of natural hair.
