Here's what to do over the first weekend of April.

The area has wonderful activities for everyone no matter the age or gender. Here are just a few:

1) Exhibits of the Southwest Arts Center

Where/when: Southwest Arts Center; 915 New Hope Road, Friday 10-4 and Saturday 9-3.

The Event: Every weekend there is something happening at the Arts Center, better yet, hanging at the Center. Last Friday, Marh 25th,  both the South Fulton High School Art Competition and Exhibit and the South Fulton Middle School Juried Art Competition began and you can still enjoy arts from some of this communities young artist. Also Friday is the last day of the Printmakers Paradise Vol. 3, presented in conjunction with Atlanta Printmakers Studio.

2) Wine Country in the City

Where/when: Winestyles Cascade, 3752 Cascade Rd., Suite #140, Saturday, 4 p.m.

The Event: Imagine a warm and inviting setting with music playing and conversation virbrating while the swirl of wine tickles your noise. Wines from Italy, South Africa, and Napa Valley, to name a few, will fill your glasses for a taste. No, you are not in a vineyard outside of the City; you are in your local WineStyles off Cascade getting ready for your wine tasting, from Merlot to Moscato and beyond. Learn the wines and enjoy the the wines of the world.

3) NCAA, Road to the Final Four: Houston and Indianapolis

 Where/when: Tavern @ J.R. Crickets, 3560 Camp Creek Pkwy.; J.R Crickets: Sandtown Crossing, 5819 Campbellton Rd.; , 2348 Cascade Road, Ruby Tuesday of Camp Creek, 3390 Camp Creek Pkwy. Applebee’s, 3690 Cascade Rd., Ultimate Bar & Grill, 3515 Camp Creek Pkwy., East Point. Game time is Saturday, 4:10 p.m. for the men and Sunday, 7 p.m. for the women. Championship games are Monday and Tuesday, respectfully. 

The Event: The Final Fours have been set, the women to Indianapolis (Indy) and the men to Houston (H-town). On the men’s side there will be a new national champion after defending Champ, Duke, did not make it to the Elite 8 and Cinderella is still dancing and it’s VCU. VCU?!? Yes Virginia Commonwealth Union. Joining them with be last years runner up, Butler, and house hold names UConn and Kentucky. On the women’s side it’s, can anyone dethrone the two time history making, defending national champion UConn Lady Huskies.  Joining them is Stanford and two teams from Texas, Baylor and 1st timers Texas A&M. While watching the end of March Madness in April excite your mouth with the establishments many choices of appetizer's or entree's, including wings and nachoes, and wash it down rom an assortment of beverges. Of course do not drink and drive.
