Hair Extensions 101: The Row-By-Row Technique

Row-by-row extensions can give you instant length and volume.

You can achieve length, volume and color through row-by-row hair extensions. Remember extensions can preserve the hair while giving you an opportunity to explore new looks. For instance, one can take chin length hair and add 18” inches to create new dimensions to the hairstyle.

When seeking length with row-by-row extensions, it is important to make sure that the hair texture of the extensions is close to your own hair.

If similar hair texture is applied, then it will give the allusion that your hair is growing out of your scalp. It also is important to handle hair with care. Since some your natural hair will be exposed, remember not to over use your hot tools.

Frequent shampooing (twice a week or as often as possible based on your hair texture and lifestyle) is important for maintaining healthy hair. It  is also helpful in maintaining body and volume. To avoid damage, hair extensions should be removed after 5 or 6 weeks.

When removing hair extensions, Cynthia Tingling and I have developed our own reconstructive hair treatment called JC 24/7, which has the ability to reduce breakage and tangling. JC 24/7 (Jacque and Cynthia 24/7) is formulated to strengthen and repair the hair internally. Its fortifying solution repairs the hair strand from inside-out.
