Keisha Lance Bottoms and Atlanta Jazz Festival Hosts Free Jazz Concert at John White Park

The rescheduled Neighborhood Jazz Concert at John A. White Park takes place this Saturday, June 7th.

The following is a press release from the office of Councilmember Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Atlanta City Councilmember Keisha Lance Bottoms in partnership with the 36th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival will present a free Neighborhood Jazz Concert from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8th at John A. White Park, located at 1053 Cascade Circle, S.W., Atlanta, GA 30311.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their blankets and picnic baskets. This is a free event.

Performers will include trumpeter Milkshake; saxophonist J.O. Wyatt; saxophonist J. Henry; and the Mays-Young Jazztet - featuring students from Benjamin E. Mays High School and Jean Childs Young Middle School.

“This is another great opportunity for people to fellowship and enjoy amazing entertainment right in the community,” said Councilmember Bottoms. “This is the third year that I have hosted jazz in beautiful John A. White Park and each year the event gets bigger and better. It is a fun time for people of all ages.”

The Atlanta Jazz Festival is an annual musical showcase that celebrates jazz in venues throughout metro Atlanta.  The festival exposes and entertains diverse audiences to the rich heritage of jazz. This year’s festival took place May 25 through May 27 in Piedmont Park.
