New Photographers' Gallery Opens This Weekend

The new Arnika Dawkins Gallery is opening this weekend in southwest Atlanta.

The southwest Atlanta area is welcoming a new gallery with a photography focus to the community this weekend.

The Arnika Dawkins Gallery, located at 4600 Cascade Rd. and backed by the National Black Arts Festival, is opening this evening with an inaugural opening exhibition, Black & White and Color, which includes a range of photographs with images of African-Americans.

The opening exhibit will showcase the work of featuring the work of four celebrated artists: Allen Cooley, Titus Heagins, Builder Levy and Marlene Hawthrone Thomas.

On Saturday, the grand opening weekend will continue with informal conversations with the artists and a book signing that begins at 11 a.m. The opening exhibit runs from tonight through Nov. 5.

The gallery, located within walking distance of , will continue to focus on offering a unique and ever-evolving collection of high quality fine art photography by local, regional, national and international artists, according to a news release from the R. Agency. The owners are excited to welcome both private and corporate collectors, as well as those who are interested in becoming collectors.
