The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment. The Fulton County Public Library System was awarded The Big Read grant for 2013, and is hosting a series of programs and events that will take place in February and March.
This new “one book/one community” series features Ernest Gaines’ novel, A Lesson Before Dying, and there are community-wide reading programs, book club events, theatrical readings, film screenings and more to go along with the book.
