The event was designed to show support for students and families in challenged communities by providing backpacks and much need school supplies, and award students who take the initiative to attend an organizational skills meeting with teachers and guest speakers from area businesses.
"College and Career Academies (CCAs) represent a unique opportunity to help prepare Georgia's students for successful college and career transitions, and they provide a unique focal point for engaging the business community as a partner in developing our 21st Century workforce,” says Mark Peevy, Executive Director, Secondary Education Initiatives.
“Hapeville Charter Career Academy is a great example of the good work going on in Georgia's CCAs, and they are providing tremendous benefits to both their students and the surrounding business community as a result of their efforts".
