West End Mall Prayer Vigil to Stop the Violence - Monday night

On the eve of the July 31st elections community members will gather to hold a prayer vigil at The Mall at West End.

The July 31st election is just days away, and members of the West End community want leaders to know that the neighborhood is serious about ending violence.

On Monday, July 30th at 7pm, the eve of election day, a coalition of Youth, concerned citizens and civic leaders from around the metro Atlanta area will gather for a candlelight peace and prayer rally in the East Parking lot of the Mall West End.

The purpose and intent of the demonstration will be to bring awareness to the community regarding violence committed by young people and to appeal to the city for unified peace.

Speakers will include youth and representatives from around the Metropolitan-Atlanta area and from organizations that include the National Action Network, NAACP and Revive the Vote, Inc.

"Let us come together in efforts to help bring awareness to this senseless epidemic of violence, we will gather in peace, prayer, and love unifying our communities and remembering our fallen victims," states organizer Kamille Miller.

Voters might find it useful to be provided with the names and positions held by members of theRead More "Community Advisory Boards" and the "Human Services Coordinating Committee" as these 2 groups seem to have been provided with enough information to make $4M worth of recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. Conversely, not long ago, a costly audit report revealed that not enough program information had been collected (over a 3 year period) for professional auditors to make programmatic recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. Taxpayers of Fulton County are in dire need of NEW Commissioners who will not continue to buy the garbage, repeatedly, placed before them by the Director of Housing and Human Services: Gerry Easley. It would also be beneficial for taxpayers to be provided with the list of names of individual government employees who did receive permanent salary increases, during the last 5 year, when no county-wide permanent raises were approved of by the Board of Commissioners.
