Atlanta Habitat's Latest Build: New Headquarters in Reynoldstown

Home builder to those in need is building new digs on Memorial Drive.

REYNOLDSTOWN — Commuters who use drive the stretch of Memorial Drive that runs through this neighborhood have no doubt noticed the fencing that has been erected around the building at 824 Memorial at Chester Avenue.

It's slated to be redeveloped into the new headquarters of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, which is just up the street on Memorial in Grant Park.

Atlanta Habitat is a separate affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, which has its operational headquarters in Americus and administrative offices in Downtown.

That's a nice reuse for this building. I wish someone would do something cool with the old Parmalat building down the street.

A 155k sq. ft. big box retailer would fit nicely on the Parmalat site.

There were plans for the Parmalat site, that included a Publix, I believe, before the recession. Neighborhoods were all for it, from what I heard, but the economy intervened. Yeah, a much better location for retail, that site- better access, more traffic for sales, less impact on residences.
