Cascade Patch Celebrates 1st Anniversary, Looks to Future

Local business owners, community advocates, journalists and supporters celebrate Cascade Patch's first year as an daily news website serving greater southwest Atlanta.

The staff and correspondents of Cascade Patch celebrated the first anniversary of the daily community news website's launch Tuesday evening at Wine Styles Cascade.

The event included door prizes; greetings from Patch sales manager Chris Harper and Attorney Marvin Arrington, Jr., of Arrington & Phillips, LLP; and news from the new southwest Atlanta parents group, EMC2, of a 2012 community screening of the classic documentary "Eyes on The Prize." EMC2 also shared plans for a series of interviews early next year with long-time southwest Atlantans who lived through the tumultuous 1960s era Civil Rights Movement.

Cascade Patch launched Nov. 29, 2010. To see just a few of the great stories we've filed over the last 12 months, visit Our First Year: A Look at Top Cascade Patch Stories in Our First Year which is pinned under the News tab at the top of the page.
