Cheapest Gas in Greater Cascade Area Tuesday

Like motorists across the country, southwest Atlanta drivers are cringing at the pump as rising gas prices continue to climb amid tension in Libya and The Middle East. 

The average price for regular gas in Georgia was $3.43 per gallon on Monday, according to the AAA Auto Club South's daily fuel gauge report.

The national average price per gallon is up 15 cents to $3.50 a gallon, according to the site. That compares to an average of $2.72 a year ago.

Prices range from $3.29 to $3.79 a gallon for regular gas in gas stations in and around southwest Atlanta and much of South Fulton, according to www.georgiagasprices.com.

Here are five of the lowest gas Cascade Patch found in southwest Atlanta and in the greater Sandtown area, as reported by motorists on Georgia Gas Prices in the past 24 hours:

$3.29 at Marathon, 4410 Roosevelt Hwy., at S. Cook Road.

$3.38 at Chevron, 4485 Campbellton Rd., at County Line Road.

$3.39 at Express Zone, 374 Cleveland Ave.,  near I-75 Exit 241.

$3.44 at Citgo, 2995 Headland Dr., near Greenbriar Pl.

$3.45 at QuikTrip, 5705 Fulton Ind Blvd., near Camp Creek Pkwy.
